The word “Antonym” means a word or phrase that is the opposite of another word or phrase. These paintings are the embodiment of the word due to the process in which they are created. For example, I start in the first phase “the chaos phase” which consists of throwing paint on the canvas and creating within an almost mindlessness state of being. After that process I move on to the second phase “the contemplation phase” where I meticulously add elements to the piece to emphasizing and deemphasizing parts. The process itself of chaos and contemplation is in itself an antonym and imbodies these peieces. For the materials I do not stay with one medium but allow myself freedom to add different materials to add interesting textures and variety.
